What is included?

Beach gear, cooler/water, snorkel gear/SUPs/underwater scooters by request, and the flexible private Jeep experience.

What happens if it rains on the day of my excursion?

Our tours run rain or shine, as tropical rain showers are typically brief. However, if weather conditions make the tour unsafe, we’ll reschedule or offer a full refund.

Will we get back to the ship on time?

Yes. Return-to-ship timing is built into the tour plan.

What to bring and not to bring?

We recommend bringing:

Sunscreen
A towel
Comfortable clothing and swimwear
Water shoes or sandals
A camera or phone for photos

Do I need to tip the guide?

Tipping is optional but appreciated! If you enjoy the service and experience, a 15–20% tip is customary.

Is the tour suitable for children or elderly guests?

Absolutely! Our tours are family-friendly and can be adjusted to accommodate all ages and fitness levels. Child car seats can be provided upon request.

Is every tour private?

Yes. Every Tropic Sun Jeep tour is private for your group only.

Do you pick up from cruise ports?

Yes. We offer cruise-friendly pickup and timing for both major St. Thomas cruise areas.

What is "Reef Safe" sunscreen?

Reef-safe sunscreen is specially formulated without harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate, which can damage coral reefs and marine life. Look for sunscreens labeled as "reef-safe" or "reef-friendly" to protect both your skin and ocean ecosystems.

When taking an excursion with Tropic Sun, here are a few details to keep in mind for your comfort and safety:

Open-Air Jeeps: Our Jeeps are open-air, offering unobstructed views and a refreshing island breeze. However, this also means exposure to the sun and occasional rain, so we recommend wearing sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, and bringing a light jacket or rain poncho.
Physical Activity: While our tours can be customized to your fitness level, some activities like snorkeling or paddleboarding may require moderate physical effort. Let us know if accommodations are needed.
Restroom Breaks: Our guides ensure stops at facilities during the tour, but it's a good idea to use the restroom before departure.
Storage: Space for small bags is available in the Jeep under the seat, please keep your personal items secure, as we do operate open-air Jeeps.
Wildlife and Nature: Encounters with the island’s natural flora and fauna are common—be sure to pack a camera for memorable shots!
